WCCT Endowed Scholarship

Webster City Community Theatre is an organization of theatre amateurs who desire to bring the residents of this community in contact with theatre and opportunities to be a part of the theatre world. WCCT offers financial assistance to students who have participated in the theatre arts and who may be interested in receiving further education in that field; however, a theatre arts major is not required to qualify for the scholarship.

Webster City Community Theatre annually presents one or more scholarships of $500 to a graduate or graduating senior. The applicant must have been active in the theatre arts in his or her school or community. Preference will be given to applicants who were involved in WCCT productions. Preference will also be given to students pursuing careers in the arts, particularly performance arts.

In 2015, WCCT was responsible for bringing Simon Estes’ “Roots & Wings” concert to Webster City.  Proceeds were invested with the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation and the Greater Des Moines Foundation to establish the WCCT Endowed Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded to Hamilton County graduates who have been involved in the fine arts each spring.

WCCT appreciates your financial support and in-kind donation to the General Fund.

Funds can also be given to provide scholarships for the Young Footlighters Traveling Playhouse Camp, our summer theatre workshop for youth in our community.

Gifts to the WCCT Endowed Scholarship Fund are eligible for a 25% tax credit from the Endow Iowa Tax Credit program.
