If you can’t get enough of Christmas, this is a way to extend the experence into January!
The script is based on the memoir of Jean Shepherd’s youth growing up in the midwest in the 1940’s. It follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest for a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher, and even Santa Clau himself at Higbee’s Department Store. Their consistent response is “You’ll shoot your eye out!” Of course, there is a temperamental exploding furnace, Scut Farkas the school bully, the boys’ experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost, the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin, the woman’s leg lamp, and more.
