Webster City Community Theatre relies on ticket sales, grants, donations, memorials and bequests to cover the cost of our productions and provide educational workshops for youth.  That income is also used to operate and maintain the facility.

Our generous community and WCCT members made it possible to purchase the former Grace Methodist Church in 1992 and convert it into a performance space. A $100,000 bequest from the Helen Johnson Estate in 2010 was the catalyst for a successful capital campaign to add a 6,000 sq. ft. much-needed addition and replace the auditorium seats.

A generous bequest from the Loretta Leman Estate has allowed us to continue to bring quality shows to the stage, make technical upgrades, and more widely promote WCCT.

Recently, WCCT received over $98,000 from the Maxine Packard estate. The gift from this loyal patron will also enable us to continue our mission to provide live theatre in our community.

These assets helped us meet expenses during the COVID pandemic shut down.  Many theatres with paid staff and talent suffered during those years, but the all-volunteer WCCT organization survived.

In 2015, WCCT was responsible for bringing Simon Estes’ “Roots & Wings” concert to Webster City.  Proceeds were invested with the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation and the Greater Des Moines Foundation to establish the WCCT Endowed Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded to Hamilton County graduates who have been involved in the fine arts each spring.

WCCT appreciates your financial support and in-kind donation to the General Fund.

Funds can also be given to provide scholarships for the Footlighters Traveling Playhouse Camp, our summer theatre workshop for youth in our community.

Gifts to the WCCT Endowed Scholarship Fund are eligible for a 25% tax credit from the Endow Iowa Tax Credit program.

Webster City Community Theatre is a 501c(3) organization.  Please consider making a tax-deductible donation.  Checks made payable to WCCT can be left at the box office or mailed to WCCT, PO Box 272, Webster City, IA  50595.  If you have questions, please contact Doug Getter at dgetter@netins.net.
